Description
Best of Senja is a full-day journey across Norway’s second-largest island, designed for those who want to see more and move at a calm, natural pace. The tour is available in summer and autumn, when longer days allow us to spend more time outdoors and explore beyond the main viewpoints.
During this 8-hour experience, we travel along parts of Senja’s National Scenic Road, passing dramatic coastlines, fjords, and mountain landscapes. We stop at well-known locations such as Bergsbotn viewing platform, Tungeneset, and Ersfjordstranda, as well as at quieter spots chosen based on weather, light, and road conditions.
This tour offers more than scenic driving. Along the way, there are short, optional walks at selected locations. These walks are easy and made for exploration and photography, not mountain hiking. They allow you to step closer to nature and experience the landscape more slowly.
The tour starts in Finnsnes, the gateway to Senja, and is timed with the morning ferry from Tromsø. This means the full day is spent exploring the island itself. Traveling in a small group and in comfortable expedition vehicles, the experience stays flexible and personal.
Led by local guides who live on Senja, the tour includes stories about nature, daily life in the north, and the places we visit. Best of Senja is about spending a full day connected to the landscape — not rushing, not following crowds, but truly experiencing the island.
